U.S. Kids Golf announced full details for the 2026 U.S. Kids Golf World Championships, the organization’s marquee junior golf event, played July 23 through August 2, 2026, across ten courses in the Pinehurst, Sandhills and Aberdeen area of North Carolina. The two-week championships welcomed 2,048 players representing 48 U.S. states and 58 countries, continuing its designation as the largest junior golf tournament in the world.

July weather was a 2^nd consecutive “slight headwind” month, registering -2% vs. Year Ago (YA) for Golf Playable Hours at the national level.  That had minimal impact on the Year-to-Date figure still resting in positive territory at +1% (neutral in our lexicon) after 7 months, which, on average, represents ~60% of annual rounds nationally.  The YtD regional breadth metric remained favorable at a 2:1 ratio comprised of 21 favorable regions vs. 13 unfavorables and 11 in the neutral zone (+/- 2%). With six months of data in the books, U.S. golf courses are on pace to set a record for rounds played for the fifth time in six years.

There’s been no slowdown in demand during the peak-season months, with year-over-year play up nearly 6% in May and 1% in June. Rounds-played totals have been ahead of or on par with last year’s record-setting pace in every month so far this year.

Overall, play at U.S. courses over the past 6 ½ years continues to run about 16% ahead of the comparable pace from 2013 to 2019. And the current 12-month rolling index for rounds is currently at its highest level over the past decade. SEE THE DATA
