The United States National Development Program (USNDP) announced that all 50 states have joined the USNDP State Junior Team Program, establishing a nationwide player-development pathway for elite junior golfers well ahead of schedule. In February, Augusta National Golf Club and Masters Tournament Charities committed $1.5 million over three years to support the expansion of the State Junior Team component of the USNDP, helping accelerate the growth of the program.

In the second annual American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Imperial Hawai‘i Junior Classic at Pearl at Kalauao, Nakul Shrivastava from San Ramon, Calif., rallied from a two-shot deficit to capture the boys’ division title, and Madisyn Paras of Chula Vista, Calif. claimed the girls’ division title by one stroke. Shrivastava, a class of 2028 high school graduate and UCLA commit, carded rounds of 70-71-72 to finish at 3-under-par (213), edging Wick Baker and Hudson Odom, who tied for second at 2-under (214).

The PGA of America announced PGA Past President Jim Richerson as Captain of the 2027 United States Junior Ryder Cup Team. He will lead the U.S. Team of 12 boys and girls as they compete in the 14th Junior Ryder Cup at Ballyneety Golf Club and Adare Manor in Ireland, Sept. 14-16, 2027. Richerson is a two-time winning U.S. captain after previously leading the Americans to victory at the 2022 Women’s PGA Cup and 2024 PGA Cup.
