Nippon Shaft Player Wins in China

A 40-year-old Austrian used Nippon Shaft products yesterday to record his ninth victory on the DP World Tour. The champion used N.S.PRO MODUS³ TOUR 120 steel shafts in his irons and wedges to post a 19-under par total with rounds of 64-66-68-67—265 at the Volvo China Open in Shanghai. He trailed by three shots on the 10th hole of his final round. There, he chipped in for birdie, drained a 25-foot birdie putt on No. 11 and made another long putt on No. 13 to tie for the lead. In the end he won my three shots and earned €400,172 ($469,000).

University of Georgia Wins the Team and Individual Titles at the 2026 PGA National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA) Championship

The University of Georgia captured both the team and individual titles at the 2026 PGA National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA) Championship, held at Twin Warriors and Santa Ana Golf Clubs over the weekend (April 26-27, 2026). It is the third national club golf title for Georgia, which previously won the 2016 Fall and 2017 Spring championships. Previously, the PGA of America hosted a Fall and Spring national championship, but now that it is a year-long  season, there is just one national championship, held in the spring. The Pinehurst Open, which is open to the first 25 college club teams who register, is played in the fall.

25 Golfer Base growth accelerates along with generational shifts

Pellucid announces the release of their annually anticipated scorecard on the golfer base size, shape and growth In the ’25 update to this annual analysis of the golfer base, based on Pellucid’s 15+ year partnership with the National Sporting Goods Association and their all-sports survey, we look at the shape and changes in the golfer base through the following dimensions:

  • Gender – both groups grew; males added more golfers but females grew faster

  • Age – Encouragingly, the 35-44 group grew the most while 65-74 was the sole loser

  • Income – “Democratization” took a hit as all gains happened at $75K+ income

  • Involvement – Casuals (2-9 rds/yr) notched the largest gain while Committeds (40+ rds/yr) declined

  • Play dynamics – Participation gained, Frequency (rds per golfer) declined and Play Rate (rds per capita) was unchanged

Capital Canyon Club to Unveil New $1.3 Million Dollar Practice Facility on April 30

Capital Canyon Club in Prescott, Ariz. will celebrate the grand opening of a new, $1.3 million dollar practice facility on Thursday, April 30. “The Homestead” – named after Club owners Jerre and Mary Joy Stead – was designed by golf course architect Phil Smith and features a 19,000 square-foot putting course and a 4,000 square-foot practice green for chipping and putting. The 19,000 square-foot putting green will split into a 9-hole putting course and a normal practice putting green with green speeds maintained to simulate course conditions on the Club’s 18-hole Tom Weiskopf Signature Design.
