2025 Another Banner Year for Raymond Hearn, ASGCA

As Raymond Hearn Golf Course Designs enters its 30th year, I find myself reflecting on a season that reminded me why I fell in love with this profession in the first place. Last year, I had the privilege of diving into several remarkable historic archives. At the Crestmont CC in New Jersey, I worked with original Donald Ross sketches, plans, historic photos, and material from the Tufts University archives. At the Midlothian CC in Illinois, the Pottawatomie CC in Indiana and the Aurora in Illinois, I studied century-old plans and aerials that showed how the courses evolved over time. In other sectors of the golf spectrum, I took equal pride in helping revive the Three Fires GC, a public course in my hometown of Holland, Michigan, and in seeing Doon Brae, a new short course in Northern Michigan that I designed for Boyne Golf.
