Ben Kern, PGA General Manager at Hickory Hills Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio, earned Low PGA of America Golf Professional Honors at the 108th PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club Sunday in Newtown Square, Pa. Kern is the third individual to be a Low PGA of America Professional at the PGA Championship twice in his career, following Mike Small (2007, 2011) and Rob Labritz (2010, 2019). Bob Boyd earned the honor three times (1990, 1994, 1996).

Jonathan Stewart is obsessed. Now a member at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. where he plays to a 12 handicap, Stewart also plays in occasional tournaments. Most golf courses that are well into their third decade of existence can expect wear and tear issues with their irrigation system. Such was the case with the beautiful par-71 Sedona Golf Resort earlier this year in Arizona. So, management at Sedona contracted with PTI Golf of Henderson, NV, to upgrade a portion of the 38-year-old irrigation system, and at the same time, renovate three-dozen bunkers. PTI’s Cruz Urive oversaw the project.

The NALG National Tournament will be played Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27, at Keller Golf Course. This year’s Tournament Week will consist of five days of golf, culminating with the National Tournament, which will be a two-round event. Additionally, the Minnesota Left-Handers will run their state championship in parallel with the NALG National Tournament.
