TMRW Sports Announces Steve Cohen as Founding Team Owner of New York WTGL Team
TMRW Sports announced Steve Cohen as a founding team owner in WTGL, with a team representing New York in the upcoming women’s team golf league launching in partnership with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). New York’s WTGL team will be owned and managed by Cohen and Cohen Private Ventures(CPV), which oversees the family office activities for Cohen and his family. The WTGL team adds to CPV’s portfolio of sports investments, which include TGL’s New York Golf Club, PGA TOUR Enterprises, and the New York Mets Major League Baseball Club.

Make Golf Your Thing Awards Grants to 69 Organizations Nationwide in Support of Expanding Access
The Make Golf Your Thing Grassroots Grants Program will distribute $500,000 to 69 organizations in 2026, bringing the program’s total investment in expanding access to golf nationwide to $3.5 million. Administered by the American Golf Industry Coalition and supported by industry partners, the program has awarded grants to 200 organizations since launching in 2021. This year’s funding cycle includes 13 first-time recipients and 56 returning organizations. The program helps expand access to golf by supporting initiatives that engage individuals from historically underrepresented communities.

PGA of America Names Jeff Clennon Chief Commercial Officer and Paul Stephens Chief Financial Officer
The PGA of America today named Jeff Clennon Chief Commercial Officer and Paul Stephens Chief Financial Officer, strengthening the Association’s executive leadership team and supporting its long-term strategic priorities. Clennon and Stephens will report to Chief Executive Officer Terry Clark and will be based at the Home of the PGA of America in Frisco. Together, Clennon and Stephens will help advance the PGA of America’s focus on strengthening the value and impact of PGA of America Golf Professionals, growing the game, and elevating the PGA Championship, Ryder Cup, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship and other marquee events.
Golf It Forward announces 2026 PEARLS, Marilynn Smith Scholarship Recipients
Golf It Forward® is pleased to announce that in conjunction with the LPGA Foundation, 25 young ladies have each earned a $5,000 Marilynn Smith College Scholarship for 2026. Tournament officials announced today that historic Wilshire Country Club will return to host the LPGA Tour at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro on April 12-18, 2027. The original host of the JM Eagle LA Championship and a longtime LPGA Tour host dating back to 2018, Wilshire Country Club recently completed a multi-million-dollar course restoration and comprehensive upgrade project that began in late 2024. The course restoration, managed by renowned course architect Kyle Philips, honors the integrity of Norman Macbeth’s vision by refreshing the grounds for the modern era while preserving the character that has defined Wilshire’s championship reputation for more than a century.
